The Football Kenya Federation (FKF) has officially launched the 2026 World Football Week campaign at Dagoretti North Primary School, with a strong message encouraging children to stay active through football and daily exercise.
The nationwide campaign, which runs from May 21 to May 25, is being carried out in partnership with FIFA and the World Health Organization under the theme “Be Active – Play for Health, Play for Joy.”
The launch event brought excitement to the school as pupils took part in football clinics, dribbling and passing drills, and fun skills sessions led by coaches and trainers. The event also included the distribution of footballs and training equipment through the FIFA For Schools programme.
FKF said the campaign is aimed at promoting healthy living among children by encouraging at least 60 minutes of physical activity every day. The federation noted that football can help young people grow physically, mentally, and socially while also building teamwork and confidence.
The activity at Dagoretti North Primary School marked the beginning of several grassroots football programmes that will be held across the country during World Football Week.
Teachers, coaches, and football officials also used the event to educate children on discipline, teamwork, and the importance of living an active lifestyle.
FKF says the #BeActive campaign is part of a global movement using football to inspire healthier and happier communities, especially among young people in schools and local communities.
