The 2026 Kenya Secondary Schools Sports Association (KSSSA) Term One National Games have received a major boost after Brookside Dairy committed Sh30 million towards the national championship set for Kisumu next week.
The week-long games, scheduled to run from April 5-11 at Kisumu School, will bring together top secondary school teams from across the country, all battling for national honours in athletics, basketball, hockey and rugby 15s.
The sponsorship marks a continuation of Brookside’s long-standing partnership with KSSSA, now stretching into its 23rd year, underlining the company’s commitment to nurturing young talent through school sports.
Speaking during the official launch in Nairobi, Brookside Dairy Corporate Communications Manager Wilson Okong’o said the investment is aimed at strengthening youth development and creating structured opportunities for students to grow their sporting abilities.
He noted that the company’s involvement goes beyond financial support, focusing on building pathways for young athletes to transition and excel in competitive sports.
Okong’o also highlighted the link between the sponsorship and the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC), noting that sports play a key role in developing learners’ talents under the creative arts and sports science pathway.
KSSSA Secretary General David Ngugi welcomed the continued backing, describing Brookside as a reliable partner that has stood with school sports for over two decades.
Ngugi added that the sponsorship has also enhanced player welfare, with Brookside providing milk to ensure proper nutrition for student-athletes during the competition.
With excitement building ahead of the Kisumu showdown, this year’s edition is expected to attract strong competition from schools across the country, as emerging talents take center stage in one of Kenya’s most important grassroots sporting events.
