Kabras Sugar seek more sweetness as they face Uganda’s Black Pirates in Enterprise Cup final

Defending champions Kabras Sugar will be aiming to extend their dominance in East African rugby when they take on Uganda's Black Pirates in the 2025/26 Enterprise Cup final at RFUEA Grounds on Saturday afternoon.

The highly anticipated clash brings together two of the region’s strongest rugby clubs, both arriving in the final with impressive records and strong squads.

Kabras, the reigning Kenyan champions, are chasing another Enterprise Cup title after establishing themselves as one of the most successful clubs in the competition.

The Kakamega-based side has reached seven finals and won five of them, including victories in the last four.

The Sugarmen have named an experienced side led by captain George Nyambua. Key players such as Roy Maruti, Ntabeni Dukisa, Walter Okoth and Eric Cantona are expected to play crucial roles as Kabras look to retain their crown.

However, they will face a determined Black Pirates team that is enjoying one of the best periods in its history.

The Kampala-based club are the current Uganda Rugby Premiership and Uganda Cup champions and have impressed throughout the tournament.

Pirates booked their place in the final after edging KCB Rugby 11-10 in the quarter-finals before defeating Nondescripts 20-17 in the semi-finals.

The Ugandan side boasts several international players, including former Kabras lock Eliphaz Emong, who will come up against his former club in one of the match's biggest storylines.

Led by captain Isaac Massanganzira, Black Pirates will be hoping to make history and prove they are the top club side in East African rugby.

With Kabras chasing another title and Black Pirates seeking a memorable breakthrough, fans can expect an exciting and fiercely contested final.

Kick-off is scheduled for 3pm. The day's action will also feature the Mwamba Cup final between JKUAT Cougars and Mombasa Rugby, while fans will be treated to the Kenya Sevens versus Great Britain match before the main event.
