The Kenya Lionesses produced another dominant performance at the Rugby Africa Women’s Cup after thrashing Madagascar 57-0 at the RFUEA Grounds in Nairobi on Wednesday.

The emphatic victory secured Kenya a place in the tournament’s decisive clash against defending champions South Africa Women, which will be played on Sunday at the same venue.

Kenya started the match strongly and opened the scoring after just four minutes when Nelly Chikombe powered past her marker to score the first try of the game.

The Lionesses continued to dominate with Stella Wafula adding another try before the successful conversion stretched Kenya’s lead to 12-0.

Despite a few handling mistakes and missed opportunities, the hosts remained firmly in control throughout the first half.

Marvel Oswago bulldozed over for another try before experienced forward Sheila Chajira crossed the line to widen the advantage.

Faith Livoi also got on the scoresheet, while Sinaida Mokaya added a penalty as Kenya went into halftime leading 25-0.

The second half followed the same pattern, with the Lionesses overwhelming Madagascar in all departments.

Freshia Oduor completed a brace after collecting a clever grubber kick, while another powerful maul try pushed Kenya further ahead.

Maureen Muritu later scored and converted her own try before Wafula grabbed her second of the match to take Kenya beyond the 50-point mark.

Edith Nariaka sealed the emphatic win with the final try of the afternoon as the Lionesses completed a massive 57-0 victory.

The result now sets up a thrilling showdown between Kenya and South Africa, with the Lionesses hoping to dethrone the reigning continental champions on home soil.
