The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) has intensified investigations into the alleged Sh42 million CHAN insurance payment after summoning 12 Football Kenya Federation (FKF) National Executive Committee members to record statements.
The officials have been asked to appear before investigators at the Integrity Centre as the anti-graft agency seeks answers over alleged irregularities linked to insurance arrangements for CHAN.
Among those summoned are FKF Vice President McDonald Mariga, Caleb Amwayi, Gabriel Mghendi, Collins Opiyo Kalee, Bernard Lagat, Dan Shikanda, Peter Kamau, Robert Macharia, Violet Kerubo Momanyi, and Ken Rungu.
According to the investigation schedule, nine NEC members are expected to record statements on Friday, while Ahmedqadar Mohammed Dabar, Charles Njoka, and Ken Rungu will appear before the commission on Tuesday.
The investigation is centred on claims of possible financial irregularities in the procurement and management of CHAN insurance services.
The latest development puts fresh pressure on FKF at a time when the federation is already facing leadership wrangles and growing scrutiny over football management in the country.
