Former Oilers duo set for KCB debut in Impala Floodlit semi-final

Former Menengai Oilers players Fortune Arturo and Charles Osgood are set to make their KCB Rugby Club debut against Mwamba RFC as the bankers chase a place in the Impala Floodlit Tournament.

The two forwards are expected to feature when KCB take on Mwamba in Saturday’s semi-final at Impala Club, adding a fresh dimension to a side seeking its 11th title in the competition.

Arturo is set to start at hooker, while Osgood is expected to partner co-captain Winston Macharia in the second row, marking an immediate reunion with their former teammates.

Their potential involvement comes as KCB look to build on a 31-24 quarterfinal victory over Menengai Oilers, a result that took the Ruaraka-based side back to the semi-finals for the first time in two years.

Head coach Andrew Amonde is expected to retain most of the team that secured the quarterfinal win, with consistency likely to be key against a competitive Mwamba outfit.

KCB could also receive a boost from the return of scrum-half Samuel Asati, who missed the previous match through injury.

Asati says the squad is determined to carry its quarterfinal momentum into the last-four clash as it targets a place in the final.

For KCB, Saturday’s encounter offers an opportunity to move a step closer to another tournament crown, with the new recruits potentially playing a role in their title ambitions.
