Nairobi United coach Aussems eyes win as he prepares for APS Bomet

Nairobi United head coach Patrick Aussems is calling on his players to turn their promising performances into wins when they host APS Bomet in the SportPesa League at Police Sacco Stadium on Sunday.

Nairobi United are yet to win this season after opening their campaign with a 2-2 draw against KCB before settling for a goalless draw against Shabana in their second match.

Michael Karamor and Evans Malo scored in the draw against KCB, but Aussems will be hoping his team can be more effective in front of goal as they look for their first victory of the campaign.

The Belgian coach remains confident in his players and says the team has shown good commitment in training ahead of Sunday's encounter.

“We have high motivation and high confidence. There is no pressure. The players just have to play football,” Aussems said.

The coach believes his side has the quality to compete, especially after adding two new signings to the squad. He says the new arrivals have increased competition for places, giving him more options when selecting his team.

Aussems is also pleased with the players' efforts in training and believes the improved competition will benefit the club as the season progresses.

Despite the two draws, the coach has urged his players to remain patient, describing the league as a long race that requires consistency.

“The league is a marathon, not a 100m. We have 30 games. We will play this game like all the others, with the aim of winning,” he added.

Nairobi United will also be encouraged by their return to Police Sacco Stadium, where Aussems expects the good playing surface to help his team express itself.

Although one player remains a slight doubt, the coach says his 30-man squad gives him enough alternatives ahead of the match.
