Darajani Gogo FC’s legal action against the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) has halted the planned commencement of the 2026/27 National Super League (NSL) season, leaving participating clubs waiting for the next step in the court process.
The Machakos High Court has issued orders stopping the start of the second-tier league following a case filed by Darajani Gogo FC against FKF.
In a circular dated October 23, 2026, the federation notified all participating clubs that the season had been put on hold pending further developments in the matter.
The court intervention places Darajani Gogo FC at the centre of a dispute that has affected the entire league, although details of the club’s specific grievances and the court’s reasoning were not provided in the federation’s notice.
FKF Acting General Secretary and Chief Executive Officer Dennis Gicheru said the federation would keep clubs updated and issue further communication on when league activities could resume.
The suspension leaves teams facing uncertainty over their opening fixtures and preparations, with no new kick-off date announced.
For Darajani Gogo FC and the federation, the next developments in the legal process are likely to be crucial in determining the way forward, as clubs await clarity on the start of the new campaign.
