No change in latest FIFA ranking for Harambee Starlets

Harambee Starlets have maintained their 128th position in the latest FIFA Women’s World Rankings despite an emphatic performance in the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games qualifiers.

Kenya’s senior women’s national team recorded back-to-back 11-0 victories over Seychelles in October, scoring 22 goals without conceding as they secured qualification for the third round.

The Starlets registered their first victory on October 8 before completing another dominant display four days later, with both matches played at the Ulinzi Sports Complex in Nairobi.

However, the impressive results were not enough to improve Kenya’s global standing, with the team remaining 128th in the latest rankings.

The unchanged position comes as the Starlets continue to build momentum under head coach Godfrey ‘Solo’ Oduor, with their attention now turning to the next stage of the Olympic qualification campaign.

Kenya will face either Malawi or Zimbabwe in the third round, scheduled for February 2027, as they pursue a place at the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games.

The team will be hoping to carry their attacking form into the upcoming qualifiers while translating their progress on the pitch into an improved position in future FIFA rankings.
