Kenya’s national lawn bowls team has received its official team kit as the players step up preparations for the 2026 Africa States Tournament, which gets underway in Lusaka, Zambia, from September 20-26.
Secretary General John Ogolla handed over the kits to the national team on Friday ahead of the six-day continental competition.
Kenya will be represented by a 14-member delegation comprising 10 players, two reserves and two team managers.
The team has been drawn to compete against Uganda, Ghana and Nigeria as they battle for continental honours at the tournament.
Beyond the competition in Zambia, the Africa States Tournament will provide an important opportunity for Kenya to pursue qualification for the 2027 World Bowls Championships, which will be held at Victoria Park in Royal Leamington Spa, England.
The Kenyan team will be seeking to translate its preparations into strong performances against some of Africa’s leading lawn bowls nations.
With a place at the global championships at stake, the players will be aiming to make a strong impression in Lusaka and put Kenya in contention for a place on the world stage.
