Esports Kenya President Ronny Lusigi says the launch of the Kenya Esports Series marks a turning point for the sport in the country. The new competition will tour five cities before a national final in Nairobi on Jamhuri Day, December 12, 2025.
“This is a pivotal moment for Kenyan esports. It is keeping in line with our commitment as Esports Kenya that we shall go to the grassroots beyond the capital city,” Lusigi said during the announcement.
The series will run from October 4 to December 12, featuring eight popular titles including eFootball mobile, eFootball console, EA FC 26, FC Mobile, Tekken 8, PUBG Mobile, Call of Duty Mobile and Mobile Legends. Winners will earn the chance to represent Kenya in global competitions such as the Global Esports Games.
The tour will begin with the Flamingo Series in Nakuru on October 4, then head to Eldoret for the Rift Series on October 18. Mombasa will host the Pwani Series on November 1, while Kisumu will stage the Lake Series on November 15. Nairobi will take center stage on November 29 with the Capital Series before the much-anticipated national finals on Jamhuri Day.
Lusigi said the project is about more than just games. “We are excited by the prospect of uncovering fresh and raw talents from across the country. In addition to the competition the series shall also involve capacity building in all the regions we visit which includes referees training and community engagement,” he explained.
He added that the aim is to ensure every region benefits from the growing esports movement. “This series is a chance to inspire the next generation of gamers and put Kenya firmly on the global esports map,” Lusigi said.
The Kenya Esports Series is expected to attract players and fans in large numbers, bringing a festive atmosphere to every host city before climaxing with the national showdown in Nairobi.
