Naivasha is set to buzz with eSports excitement this weekend as Rangers Esports hosts the third edition of the Rangers Biggest Tournament on Sunday at the Rangers Gaming Station.
With over 101 players already registered, the competition promises to be the most thrilling yet, featuring a Ksh 150,000 prize pool.
Winners from positions 1 to 10 will walk away with cash prizes—Ksh 55,000 for the champion, Ksh 35,000 for the runner-up, and Ksh 25,000 for third place, with others receiving Ksh 5,000 each. In addition, the top 10 will be awarded fully branded Rangers Esports T-shirts, giving them both bragging rights and memorable merchandise.
Tournament director Mama Selina Rangers, the passionate brain behind the event, says her journey into gaming began thanks to her husband and brother.
“I chose to invest in gaming after my husband Baba Selina and little bro introduced me to it,” she said. “I started with just 5 consoles in a gaming station, and now we have 15 consoles and our own Rangers Esports brand.”
Now in its third edition, the tournament has rapidly grown in popularity, and Mama Selina hopes this weekend’s edition will solidify its place among the biggest and most unique eSports competitions in Kenya.
“My expectations are for it to be one of the biggest, best, and most unique tournaments yet,” she added.
“I want to support young gamers and show them that gaming is also a career—and prove to Kenyans we can commercialize eSports.”
The tournament is sponsored by Nilesh Gorasia and all eyes are on Naivasha this weekend as Kenya’s vibrant gaming community prepares for a showdown like no other.
