‎KVF league champions GSU, Kenya Pipeline on course for Kipchumba Karori Cup glory

The race for volleyball glory is heating up in Eldoret as top sides in Kenya Volleyball Federation men league champions General Service Unit (GSU), new league boys Chema, and women league champions Kenya Pipeline Company (KPC) stormed into the finals of the 2025 Kipchumba Karori International Tournament.

GSU secured their place in the men’s final after a powerful 3–0 straight-sets win over long-time rivals Kenya Prisons in a thrilling semi-final showdown.

The win capped an impressive run for GSU, who also swept Uganda’s Nemostars 3–0 in the quarters.

‎‎Chema will join them in the final in what will be a repeat of the group stage showdown after edging out Kenya Ports Authority 3-1 in the other semi-final.

‎‎In the women’s category, Kenya Pipeline booked a spot in the final after overpowering Kenya Prisons in straight sets, winning 26–24, 34–32, and 25–17.

Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) also booked their ticket to the final after a dramatic 3-2 victory over KCB. They won the match in 23-25, 25-20, 28-26, 20-25, 15-13.

‎‎The winners in the final which will be played on Sunday will walk away with a Sh1 million prize in the second edition of the tournament, hosted at Eldoret Polytechnic, which drew over 188 teams from across the region.
