KCB Rugby have suffered a shocking exit from the 2026 Enterprise Cup after a narrow 11-10 loss to Uganda’s Pirates in a tense quarter-final played in Kampala on Saturday.
The Bankers, who were among the title favourites, fell short by a single point in a low-scoring match at the Muteesa II Royal Stadium. Pirates held their nerve in the closing stages to seal a famous win and send KCB out of the competition.
KCB are now the only Kenyan side eliminated at this stage, as Menengai Oilers, Kabras Sugar and Nondies all booked their places in the semi-finals with strong performances.
In Nakuru, Menengai Oilers produced a dominant display, thrashing Toyota Buffaloes 60-15 at the ASK Showground.
Oilers set the tone early, with Destrious Ifedha scoring the opening try before Alvin Khavoli and Brian Achacha added more to give the hosts a big lead.
Wallace Onyango and Philip Okeyo also crossed the line as Oilers took full control of the match, leading 36-6 at halftime.
The second half followed the same pattern, with Khavoli and Abutwalib Wesonga combining well to extend the lead.
More tries from Beldad Ogeta and Okeyo sealed an emphatic victory and confirmed Oilers as strong title contenders.
Elsewhere, Kabras RFC continued their fine form with a commanding 61-19 win over Heathens, showing their attacking strength away from home.
Nondies also impressed, beating KCB Kobs 29-13 to complete a successful outing for Kenyan teams in the quarterfinals.
The results mean three Kenyan teams will feature in the semifinals, keeping hopes alive for a local winner despite KCB’s early exit.
