Ulinzi Stars striker Paul Okoth has been named the SportPesa League Player of the Month for November 2025 after a run of strong and match-winning performances.
Okoth earns the honour following an impressive month in which he played a key role in Ulinzi Stars’ good results.
The former Migori Youth forward becomes the second winner of the award this season, after Gor Mahia winger Shariff Musa, who claimed the October prize.
Speaking after receiving the award, Okoth said the recognition belongs to the whole team. He praised his teammates for their support and hard work, saying the award is a big motivation for everyone at the club.
“I feel good about this award. It is not just about me. My teammates worked hard and helped me achieve this,” Okoth said.
The striker was in top form throughout November. He scored the only goal in Ulinzi’s 1-0 win over APS Bomet before producing a man-of-the-match performance against Sofapaka. In that game, Okoth scored twice and added an assist as Ulinzi Stars secured a 3-1 victory.
Okoth said his success comes from discipline and effort in training. He added that the award pushes him and his teammates to work even harder as the season continues.
Competition for the award was stiff, with Okoth beating Shabana goalkeeper Stephen Ochieng’, Murang’a SEAL defender Paul Ngugi and APS Bomet striker Hansel Ochieng’.
For his efforts, Okoth received a customised trophy from league sponsors SportPesa and a cash prize of Sh50,000. The striker said he will share the reward with his parents and teammates.
“I dedicate this award to my parents. I will also share the money with my teammates and my parents,” he said.
Looking ahead, Okoth has set big goals for the season. He believes the Premier League is more competitive but remains confident of hitting his targets.
“The competition here is tougher than in the National Super League. I am targeting 20 goals or more and I want to fight for the Golden Boot,” he said.
The next SportPesa League awards ceremony, where the Coach of the Month will be announced, is set for Sunday, December 21, 2025, at Kasarani Stadium.
