AFC Leopards keen to close gap on leaders Gor Mahia as they face in-form APS Bomet

The Kenyan Premier League (KPL) title race continues on Sunday with AFC Leopards hoping to move closer to league leaders Gor Mahia when they face high-flying APS Bomet in one of the biggest matches of Matchweek 32.

With Gor Mahia not in action this weekend after their match against Mara Sugar was suspended by the Sports Disputes Tribunal, Leopards have a golden chance to reduce the gap at the top of the table to just one point.

Ingwe currently sit second with 64 points, four behind Gor Mahia, and will be looking for maximum points against a confident APS Bomet.

AFC Leopards head into the match in good form after back-to-back wins against Ulinzi Stars and Kakamega Homeboyz. However, they face a difficult test against APS Bomet, who have impressed many this season and remain strong at home.

APS coach Sammy Pamzo Omollo says his side is ready to fight for victory and revenge after losing the first leg to Leopards in dramatic fashion.

He praised the support from the club’s fans and said the team wants to reward them with a win in their final home match of the season.

Elsewhere, Sofapaka host Shabana at Nyayo National Stadium in a match that could mark Sofapaka’s final home game in the top flight before relegation to the National Super League.

Shabana, who are fourth on the table with 51 points, will be aiming for victory to strengthen their push for a top-three finish.

At the Ulinzi Sports Complex, Nairobi United welcome Kenya Police in another exciting fixture. Nairobi United have enjoyed an impressive debut season in the KPL and are targeting another strong performance against Police.

Bandari will also take on Tusker at the KPA Sports Club in Mombasa, while Bidco United face Murang’a Seal as they prepare for life in the National Super League next season.

The KPL season is now entering the final stretch, with both the title race and relegation battle becoming more intense with every match.
