Coach Sammy ‘Pamzo’ Omollo is once again showing why he is regarded as one of the best coaches when it comes to saving teams from relegation after transforming APS Bomet’s season in the Kenyan Premier League.
APS Bomet continued their impressive form with a hard-fought 1-0 win over KCB, extending their unbeaten run to seven matches. During that run, the team has kept six clean sheets and recorded four straight victories.
The latest win has lifted APS Bomet to 34 points, moving them one point above Posta Rangers, Pamzo’s former club. Interestingly, the experienced tactician had left Posta Rangers in a safe position before taking over at Bomet, who were struggling deep in the relegation zone at the time.
Since his arrival, APS Bomet have become one of the toughest teams to break down in the league. Their strong defence and disciplined performances have given the club fresh hope of surviving relegation with only a few matches remaining in the season.
Pamzo’s impact has now earned him a nomination for the SportPesa Coach of the Month award for April. Under his leadership during the month, APS Bomet remained unbeaten, winning three matches, keeping three clean sheets and scoring five goals.
The coach’s experience and ability to motivate players appear to have changed the mood at the club, with fans now believing survival is possible after weeks of uncertainty.
With momentum on their side, APS Bomet will now hope to continue their fine run and secure their place in the top flight before the season comes to an end.
