League leaders Gor Mahia have a golden chance to stretch their advantage at the top of the Kenyan Premier League table when they take on Bandari in one of three key matches lined up this Sunday.
K’Ogalo head into the clash with 57 points, two ahead of arch-rivals AFC Leopards, and could open a five-point gap with a win.
Their title hopes received a boost on Saturday after Kenya Police thrashed Leopards 3-0, keeping Gor Mahia firmly at the summit.
The record champions will host Bandari at the Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani, determined to bounce back after failing to win their last two matches. Despite that dip, Gor Mahia have enjoyed a strong run, winning seven of their last ten league outings.
Bandari, however, arrive under pressure. The coastal side has managed just one win in their last five matches and only three victories in ten games. Still, they will be eager to upset the leaders and climb from mid-table into the top six.
Elsewhere, Murang'a Seal face Nairobi United in Murang’a as they begin life without coach Osborne Monday. Seal are struggling for form, having lost their last three matches, and will be desperate for a turnaround.
Nairobi United have also found consistency hard to come by, with just one win in their last five league matches. However, they will draw confidence from their recent cup victory over Posta Rangers and the return of key players to the squad.
In the early kickoff, Posta Rangers host APS Bomet at the Kasarani Annex. The Mailmen are looking to end a poor run of results and secure their first win since the return of coach Zedekiah Otieno.
APS Bomet, meanwhile, are fighting to escape the relegation zone and will be desperate for maximum points.
As the season enters a crucial stage, all eyes will be on Kasarani where Gor Mahia could take a decisive step towards reclaiming the league title.
