Kenya Police shoot down AFC Leopards title hopes after commanding show at Nyayo Stadium

Kenya Police shoot down AFC Leopards title hopes after commanding show at Nyayo Stadium

Kenya Police produced a commanding first-half performance to register a convincing 3-0 win over AFC Leopards in a Kenyan Premier League clash on Saturday, a result that boosts their push for a top-three finish and dents Ingwe’s title hopes.

Police started strongly and wasted no time taking control of the match. Yves Junior Koutiama opened the scoring in the sixth minute after a defensive mistake from Leopards. Erick Ngava Zakayo doubled the lead in the 31st minute with a calm finish after a well-worked counterattack.

Before halftime, Charles Ouma added a third goal in the 40th minute to put the Law Enforcers firmly in control at 3-0 going into the break.

AFC Leopards tried to respond in the second half with changes and increased pressure, but Kenya Police stayed disciplined at the back and managed the game well to protect their lead.

The defeat means AFC Leopards miss the chance to go top of the table and remain two points behind rivals Gor Mahia, who still have a game in hand.

Meanwhile, Kenya Police move up the standings and continue their strong form in the league run-in.
