League champions Kenya Police face a stern challenge on Friday when they host Tusker in a Kenyan Premier League clash, with Tusker defender Collins Odhiambo warning of a determined and confident opponent.
The match which kicks-off at 4.15pm could shape the league campaign for both teams. The law enforcement side is eager to claim maximum points against a Tusker team that has won three of their last four league matches under French coach Julien Mette.
Tusker defender Odhiambo, who is expected to start, has sent a strong message to his teammates, urging them to maintain focus and finish the season strongly.
“We cannot afford to get comfortable. Tusker are a strong side, but we are ready, focused, and determined to fight for every point,” Odhiambo said, reflecting the challenge Police will face on the pitch.
Kenya Police, sitting lower in the league table, will look to exploit home advantage and test Tusker’s recent good form. With two weeks of preparation, Tusker are confident, but Police’s motivation to rise up the standings could make this a thrilling encounter.
Odhiambo also noted the renewed spirit in Tusker’s camp since Mette’s arrival, highlighting the challenge awaiting Police: “There is a real bond in our squad now, and we aim to finish the league strongly while competing for the Mozzart Bet Cup. Police will have to be at their best to stop us.”
Friday’s clash promises to be high-intensity, with Kenya Police aiming to prove they can match one of the league’s top sides.
